The water is one of Tiger Bay’s greatest strengths. A river safari allows guests to experience Kariba from a different perspective, moving quietly along the river and shoreline where hippos, crocodiles, birds and other wildlife shape the view.
River safaris are available in the morning and late afternoon, giving guests calm light, cooler conditions and beautiful photographic moments. The experience is ideal for guests who want wildlife, scenery and the ease of being on the water without the pace of a traditional drive.
Tiger Bay’s boat capacity allows groups to enjoy the water together, with the current fleet able to host guests across multiple boats and additional capacity available through supporting vessels. This makes river-based experiences one of the lodge’s strongest group offerings.

River safaris are available in the morning and afternoon, following similar timing to the game drive schedule.
