Tiger Bay is a return to one of Kariba’s most soulful settings. It carries the spirit of the old fishing camp, but with a new level of comfort, service and experience. Here, the days begin with light breaking over the water. You can head out fishing, take a game drive, cruise along the shoreline, watch birds move through the trees, or do absolutely nothing except settle into the peace of the place. This is not luxury that tries too hard. It is space, stillness, warm service and nature doing most of the talking.

Tiger Bay is designed around the rhythm of Kariba. Some mornings are made for tigerfish. Some afternoons are for the pool, the gym, a slow lunch, or a quiet pause with a view. Some evenings belong to river safaris, sundowners, bush dinners and stories under the stars. From game drives and fishing to bird watching, cultural visits, safari walks and wellness, every experience is built to connect you to the landscape without rushing you through it.

Getting Here
Tiger Bay can be accessed by air, road and boat, with our team available to guide guests on the best route for their itinerary, group size and travel style.
By Air
Guests may fly directly to Rukori Airstrip at Tiger Bay, with flight arrangements available from Harare. For private aircraft and smaller groups, flights may depart from Thetford Airstrip in Harare. For larger groups, Tiger Bay works with aviation partners including Grand Air, with flights available from Charles Prince Airport. The flight time from Harare to Tiger Bay is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. From Rukori Airstrip, it is a short 15-minute drive to camp. Guests travelling by air are advised to pack in soft bags, with a recommended luggage limit of 15kg per person.
By Road
Guests may also travel to Tiger Bay by road. Road access can be arranged or guided through our reservations team depending on the guest’s departure point, vehicle type and preferred itinerary. For self-drive guests, our team will provide guidance on the recommended route, road conditions and arrival logistics before travel.
By Boat
Boat transfers are available depending on the guest’s itinerary, arrival point and group size. Tiger Bay currently offers boat transfer options with:
Chikepe: maximum 16 passengers
The Eagle: maximum 9 passengers
Our reservations team will advise on the most suitable boat transfer option when confirming your booking.
